Dipac

Registration

Online Registration , or eRegistration, once completed and implemented allows Active Members full access to all features of the DIPAC web site including those denied casual visitors. An additional useful feature of eRegistration is that the information in the ‘your profile’ section can be updated by you at any time needed and is also annually updated by DIPAC such that your Final Year info indicates the year covered by your last dues payment. Should your dues status lapse, your continuing full access to the site may be suspended pending a correction to your dues situation.

Note however that eRegistration can only be implemented where a prior “paper” Registration Form has been forwarded to DIPAC along with current annual dues, and this has been processed.

All individuals eligible to receive current or deferred pension benefits as provided by Ontario Registered Pension Plan No 0242727 are eligible for membership in the DIPAC association. On that basis the association's Membership By-Laws reflect an approach which requires individuals to formally register via the available ‘paper’ Registration Form and to remit the prescribed dues. This approach will distinguish between those individuals who 'register' and become Active Members, versus those whose contact information is in our data base but who have not 'registered'. For clarity purposes the latter are designated as Inactive Members. This distinction is relevant with regard to communication(s) where in some instances and the association may exclude Inactive Members. It must be recognized that the operations of the association involve a cost, and thus financial support is critical to the association continuing to provide a service. Recognize as well that only Active Members have a voice in the operations of the association, are eligible to run for association office, vote for office candidates and on matters of constitution, etc. Additionally it has been necessary on occasion to limit communications to Active Members only, since they are financing this effort and the operations of the association. It is expected that Active Members will create Log In capability so that they can access those areas of web site information not being made available to the casual site visitor or to Inactive Members. The association is of the view that privacy concerns should prohibit publication of all member information, including a Member List. Thus such information will be kept confidential within the association’s admin group, and even in that instance will be available only on a "need to know" basis.
